A conversation with 2020 MacArthur Fellow Nels Elde

The MacArthur Fellowship—often referred to as the genius grant—recognizes talented individuals who have shown extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits and a capacity for self-direction. That describes U Professor Nels Elde perfectly. The MacArthur Foundation announced on Oct. 6, 2020, that Elde, an evolutionary geneticist, had been named a MacArthur Fellow.
